Last week, MWW Group began a company wide initiative…"Take Charge, Initiate Change, Get Green." This campaign is designed to dramatically reduce our carbon footprint and to minimize our use of natural resources. By taking simple steps, like becoming carbon neutral and mandating recycling and energy saving light bulbs, we are doing our small part to prevent global warming and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and foreign oil.
We hope that our example will inspire our clients and other public relations firms to also go green. By reducing our energy consumption and moving towards more renewable technologies, we will not only save ourselves from the devastating impact of climate change, but we will have a profound impact on our economy and national security. We would love to hear your suggestions and encourage you to join the effort. It's critical to our future.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. March 5, 2007 – MWW Group (www.mww.com), one of the nation’s top ten public relations firms, announced today that it is launching a campaign across all of its offices to make MWW Group a “green company.” The program, “Take Charge, Initiate Change, Get Green,” will also be implemented throughout the offices of the Financial Relations Board, a brand of MWW Group. As part of the campaign, the firm has rolled out initiatives to reduce waste, conserve energy and become a more environmentally conscious organization.
"This year marks our 20th anniversary and we’re celebrating the incredible success and growth of our firm by giving back to the planet. By taking MWW Group green, we’re doing our part in the effort to fight global warming, preserve natural resources and help create energy independence for our country,” said Michael W. Kempner, president and CEO of MWW Group. “Doing our small part to fight climate change doesn’t take a lot of effort. It just takes a willingness to do the simple things like installing energy efficient light bulbs, turning off the lights at the end of the day and being more conscience of the powerful impact that even a small reduction in energy use can have on our planet. It is my hope that MWW Group and its employees can be an example to the rest of the public relations industry and that together our industry can make a meaningful impact. This isn’t just about the critical issue of global warming. It’s also about energy independence, which in the end has a dramatic impact on our economy and our national security.”
As an important part of the “Take Charge, Initiate Change, Get Green” campaign, the firm has partnered with Carbonfund.org, a non-profit organization that supports renewable energy efficiency and reforestation projects that reduce and offset carbon dioxide emissions. As a result of the firm's contribution to projects that will offset its carbon foot print, MWW Group is now a carbon neutral company.
The firm is also instituting a number of new administrative protocols concerning energy use and environmental responsibility. Among the new policies, MWW Group will now require that all offices recycle aluminum cans, plastic and glass bottles, and where possible, the agency will continue to recycle the hundreds of pounds of newspaper received by its offices. The firm is also changing all bulbs in its offices to Energy Star fluorescent, which use 2/3 less energy than standard incandescent bulbs.
Additionally, through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable technologies practices, MWW Group will continue to help create and implement programs for companies that promote and create green technologies.
“I’m also pleased and excited to help launch corporate social responsibility and sustainable technology campaigns for the growing number of clients who share our commitment to make a positive contribution through green programs and technologies,” added Kempner.
